I Saw Rhythm

In the middle of a sudden cool and dusty evening breeze, there was a group of folk artists collected outside an eating joint. The men (more in number than the women) were dressed in white kurta pajamas and the 3 women in orange ghagras. They played their 'daphlis' and flutes to make wonderously simple yet captivating music, to which they danced making moves so natural and harmonized, it was like watching some perfect rhythm spontaneously come alive to celebrate a weather so pleasantly sudden.
I wanted to just stand there and watch, unwilling to leave the sight and sound. It made me wonder, what if I could travel the country at leisure and get to witness more such spectacles. The country is so vast and brimming with culture, it would be like a feast.
Folk culture can be so engaging is something I realised only after sighting a few men and women in celebration outside a local eating joint...just imagine how engaging its going to be once I get to see it in its actual environment, in full splendour!

Take me higher

Certain moments in life are so wonderfully unforgettable that you'd dream about them every minute you get. The desire to relive those moments and relive them in slow motion can be so overpowering.. Reliving such moments are like stimulants--it gives you a euphoric high!

:)

So many little unexpected things make me smile!
And so many things become happy once I'm smiling through them.

Buzzing Online

How's an online journal going to help?
It's easily updated.
It is accessible to everyone comfortably.
There is no delay in conveying information to everyone.
It acts as a database for numerous resources- alumna contacts, faculty information, department information etc.
It can be used as a platform to acknowledge and catalogue the achievements of the department.

Friendship perhaps?

Perhaps the one thing that I truly believe in is friendship. True friendship has all the ingredients that make life worthwhile. There is someone you can trust, someone who's always got your back. It leaves no room for insecurity. When you're dealing with failure, a friend will come forward to show you awaiting success.
Personally, friendship has provided me with encouragement, support, security, guidance and confidence. Couldn't have asked for more!

Eisenhower said...

"You do not lead people by hitting them on the head - that's assault, not leadership."_ Dwight Eisenhower
I'm not an aggressive person, and so hitting someone on the head is the last thing I can be capable of! Nonetheless, I know for myself that it is only when someone inspires me that I become passionate about something. If you can inspire people about a subject without making them feel any compulsions or moral obligations, you can truly be regarded as an exceptional person.
So basically, I guess this quote gives me the strength to move forward towards a role of leadership.
And just a few more quotes to support the same idea:
"The key to successful leadership today is influence, not authority.''-Kenneth Blanchard
"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader."- John Quincy Adams

My belief?

What is the one thing I truly believe in? There are many thing that inspire me from time to time, but to pinpoint one thing out of the blue is one hell of a task.
Because its YOUR belief, you want it to be projected as the truest essence of your mind and heart. It needs to come across in the RIGHT way because it represents what you yourself are made of. Your thoughts govern your actions, and since your strongest belief is your most powerful thought, it is the one that will govern your life.
